Shalin was tired, but she was going to fight for a piece of that prize pool. While she didn't expect it to be much, it would be nice having her tournament entry comped by her winnings. "Good luck," she replied, stumbling a bit as her Beedrill's wings drowned out the gallery cheering for them both. One would think it was the noise that wore her out, but she was used to being around the buzzing insect. The girl just was not used to such a long gauntlet being thrown in front of her.

Pikachu were nimble opponents and would almost certainly be difficult targets to get one of her stings on. The duo chose to be more passive than they had been in previous rounds, Queen Zing pelting the electric-type with a TWINEEDLE spray from afar. Shalin wanted to see how fast the popular vermin Pokémon was before making a major move.

Deep down, did she really just want to go home?

If there was one awful match-up Shalin remembered from earlier in the tournament, it was that match with ollie morales 's Pikachu. The species was fast enough to evade the wasp's quick strikes and could counterattack with electric blasts strong enough to leave her body numb. She had little choice; to counteract the numbness, the Captain would need to MEGA EVOLVE her Pokémon.

In the pink and violet light from her gleaming BEEDRILLITE, Queen Zing assumed her apex form, shrugging off the limpness in her muscles. With added speed and power, the giant insect's four foreleg stings whirled like a Rhydon's horn, headed toward the electric vermin in a terrifying DRILL RUN.

While the THUNDERBOLT accomplished its goal of getting the Mega Evolved Pokémon to back off and giving the Pikachu some breathing room, the whirling stings left sensitive spots on the small Pokémon's skin. Those exposures were ones the gigantic, green wasp was keep to take full advantage of.

Her wings back to fanning at full speed after the electric attack slowed them down for a short time, she pointed all four of her foreleg stings toward the Pikachu, showering it with a barrage of TWINEEDLES twice as dense as she was capable of in her base form.

The MAX LIGHTNING blanketed the entire battle court, Queen Zing having nowhere to dodge. The sheer power of the Max move blew Shalin off her feet with the shockwave alone. She couldn't fathom the voltage coursing through the Beedrill, particularly as she reverted to her smaller, less powerful form with only three stings instead of five.

The power of the Dynamax Band made Shalin flinch, the Pikachu growing to the size of a building and diluting the poison to the point where it would be almost ineffective. Struggling to fly, she bumbled around the giant, but immobile Pikachu, doing her best to POISON JAB toward the giant vermin's midsection. Even a Dynamax Pokémon had to feel sick from high enough of a dose of her poison, right?

What Dynamax Pokémon lacked in mobility, they made up for in sheer range and breadth of their attacks; the gigantic paw slapped the enormous, saddled bee out of the way like a Cutiefly being a pest. No amount of speed would let her dodge such wide attacks. She had to go full send, pumping the Pikachu with as much venom as she could and with as many painful stabs as possible.

Flying on shaky wings, Queen Zing raised her rear barb toward the same paw that tried to stab her, jabbing her FELL STINGER at it. Even if that stinger was only inside the building-sized Pikachu for a split second, it might be enough to make that paw swell.

The G-MAX VOLT CRASH dropped onto the entire battle court, a gigantic, unavoidable cylinder of electricity. Exhausted from having fought in her apex form, she could not withstand the incredible might of the colossal Pikachu's attack. All Shalin could do was watch in horror, ready to withdraw Queen Zing as soon as she could see her.

"The power of Dynamax is..." she trailed off, unsure what to say. While she had a lot of concerns over the user's health, the power boost was unlike anything she had ever seen, giving the rodent the ability to swat even a Mega Evolved Pokémon out of the sky. "You've got a shot to be among the top performers, Aaron. With a secret weapon like that, who could stand in your way?"
